Event Name: 11th 24 Hour Challenge- Hachijo Taiko ONLINE

Event date/time: November 14 and 15, 2020

Location:  We will connect the world by playing Hachijo Taiko 24 hours non-stop in Hachijo Island, with our friends through online streaming in Japan (Tokyo, Hiroshima, Kobe, Sado, Gunma, Iwate), and around the world (U.S.A., Brazil, Australia, Singapore).

Event date/time: July 18, 2021

Description: A concert held every summer for 25 years in Hakusan city, Ishikawa prefecture.

Event Name: National Special Needs Taiko Concert

Event date/time: October of every year

Location:  Rotation (with Shizuoka and Tokyo every 5 years)

Description: This is a taiko concert with groups with intellectual and physical disabilities who are actively using taiko from a therapeutic perspective. During the concert, a presentation will be given before each group's performance, giving experience reports of using taiko in their practice, and its effects. The 22nd National Challenged Taiko Festival that was scheduled for October 4, 2020 (Sunday)  has been cancelled.

Description: This is a national competition held every year to foster the next generation taiko players. Representative teams from all prefectures nationwide at the age of high school student and younger, will compete as contestants. The 22nd Japan Taiko Junior Competition Date: January 6th (Wed), 2020 Venue: Iichiko Culture Center (Oita city, Oita Prefecture) The 23rd Japan Taiko Junior Competition Date: August 15 (Sun), 2021 Venue: Kurashiki City Auditorium (Kurashiki city, Okayama Prefecture)

Description: This is a competition for seniors over 60 years old. The competition is held to pass on the taiko technique that they have cultivated over many years, to the younger generation, and also to provide seniors with the opportunity to play taiko. Event Name: Kodo Taiko Exchange Forum 2021 Spring

Event date/time: Mar. 18 (Thu)–21 (Sun), 2021

Location:  Fukaura Schoolhouse, Sado Island, Niigata

Description: Calling all taiko enthusiasts! In March 2021, we will hold a live-in workshop for taiko players on Sado Island, where Kodo is based. The workshop will start by focusing on creating sound together as one. You’ll make your own drumsticks and review the fundamentals for playing a taiko drum. Next, three instructors from the Kodo ensemble will lead experience sessions in turn, where they’ll introduce some of their fields of expertise. To conclude, all the participants will work together to create a short performance programme.
